Welcome to the music room! My name is Mrs. Hoidalen and I teach general music classes to your child once a week. Classes are 30 minutes long and are in accordance with the Connecticut State Standards for the Arts.  The concepts of pitch, melody, harmony, rhythm, movement, improvisation, and composition are addressed at all levels; music history and appreciation are addressed more in the upper grades.

There are many performance opportunities at our school. Chorus is offered for all students in grades 4-6. Rehearsals are held  during the grade level recess. We also have a band program; group lessons are offered on a pull-out basis. I encourage your child to be a part of one or both of these groups!

Remember to put these important dates on your calendar if you have a child in the band or chorus:

Thursday, December 15, 6:30 P.M.  - Band and Chorus winter concert

Thursday, May 24, 6:30 P.M. -  Band and Chorus spring concert

I am really looking forward to another exciting year!

Linda Hoidalen, Vocal and Instrumental Music teacher
